Driving forces on dislocations: finite element analysis in the context of the non-singular dislocation theory

Abstract This work presents a regularized eigenstrain formulation around the slip plane of dislocations and resultant non-singular solutions for various dislocation configurations. Moreover, we derive generalized Eshelby stress tensor configurational force theory in context proposed model. Based on finite element formulation, calculate driving configurations, including single edge/screw dislocation, loop, interaction between vacancy loop an edge as well cluster. The results are benchmarked different cases. numerical scheme can be applied to any general configuration with complex geometry loading conditions.
